As part of its robust supply chain solution, US Conec has implemented a comprehensive training and certification program for cable assembly manufacturers. This training program provides hands-on instruction in MMC connector termination, polishing, visual inspection, and optical testing. To ensure a successful deployment experience, companies are required to successfully complete the training and evaluation by US Conec personnel. This dedication to providing a thorough certification program for the MMC connector platform ensures the highest quality MMC terminated solutions are deployed.

MMC connectorized cable assemblies are currently available from a vast number of certified cable assembly manufacturers in the Americas, Asia-Pacific, Europe and Middle East.  

The MMC connector has been validated through a comprehensive multi-vendor interoperability study. Optical cable system manufacturers across the globe conducted multiple rounds of random insertion loss testing using cable assemblies built with each manufacturer’s components. These tests demonstrated consistently low insertion loss across intermates, reinforcing the robust design and interoperability of the MMC connector system.

Network owners interested in transitioning to the MMC connectivity platform will be excited to know the similarities of the TMT ferrule design to the industry standard MT ferrules found in MTP connectors. The TMT ferrule was designed to have the exact same fiber and guide pin pitch, along with the same fiber (hole) and guide pin (hole) size as the MT ferrules. Since the fiber and guide pin design elements are the same, MMC cable assemblies can be directly connected to MTP cable assemblies with the use of a hybrid MTP/MMC adapter to provide complete backwards compatibility with current MTP connector systems.​ 

US Conec has collaborated with industry-leading optical connector equipment vendors for over 30 years. This collaboration ensures that the tools, polishing equipment, and test equipment needed for MMC connector termination are readily available. Importantly, the MMC connector was designed to leverage the existing MTP® brand MPO connector ecosystem, enabling the use of current equipment. Field cleaning tools, visual inspection devices, and handheld optical test units are also available to systems installers.
