Our Slimfan™ fan-outs are compact, durable, and cost-effective assemblies utilizing our optical circuit technology. These fan-out assemblies transition one or more multi-fiber ribbons into individual 900um buffered fibers for termination to any single fiber connector type. These streamlined fan-out designs minimize the transition space required for multi-fiber ribbon to individual buffered fibers by eliminating the traditional, cumbersome breakout box.

Durofan™ 2.0mm Jacketed Break Out Kit without Fiber

The Durofan™ ribbon break out kit is a cost effective product that provides a more robust and higher durablity breakout for termination when compared to bare ribbon and 900µm fan-outs. The molded snap-fit transition body protects the 250um fibers passing from ribbon to individual legs. The ribbon jacket and strain relief yarn is crimped to the molded transition body with 30 lb removal force. Each 2.0mm leg is preinstalled into the fanout holder that drops into the main transition body for simple installation. The Durofan kit is very easy for field installation onto jacketed ribbon including high fiber count trunks. The system is also ideal for lab use to prevent inadvertent damage to fibers used in test systems.
