In house technology development focuses on high precision molded and metal parts for active O-E modules, novel connector designs, fiber management flexible circuits and improved tools for fiber termination and cleaning. The base of these skills is over 15 years of experience in materials, mold design, and nanometer scale metrology used in molding millions of MT-style ferrules for demanding requirements, such as up to 100 fibers or for low insertion loss.
Product Manager - Optical Cleaners, Hickory, NC
Manage all aspects of assigned US Conec product lines, including sales channels, development priorities, pricing strategies, promotional planning, and profitability. Assist sales management personnel as required to meet sales objectives.
Major Responsibilities:
· Achieve budgeted sales/margin for all products
· Manage expenses within budget
· Develop long term preferred customer and supplier relationships to establish US Conec leadership in targeted technology/application areas
· Promote ongoing relationships between Major Accounts and US Conec at all levels of the customer’s organization
· Expand cleaning solutions product sales through network operators, new applications, distribution companies, and territory expansion.
· Maintain and update promotional material via the US Conec website, press releases, and articles
· Analyze sales histories to recommend appropriate inventory levels of manufactured components and parts purchased for resale.
· Develop promotional plan and budget for product lines. Plan trade shows and exhibits for assigned products
· Provide input for preparation of annual and long term business plans
· Establish development priorities with input from account managers, development manager, and strategic partners.
· Establish list and contract price levels for products
· Perform market analyses to determine competitive presence and strengths
· Interface closely with NTT-AT and Fujikura on forecasts, products issues, and product strategy.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, engineering or related field required (Master’s degree a plus)
· Knowledge of fiber optic connectors and hardware products, optical standards, Systems applications is desired
· Advanced PC skills with standard MS Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
· Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
· Excellent interpersonal skills, as well, as verbal and written communications skills
· Strong presentation skills
· Travel required
