  • Preparation of cable and fiber for termination (Hands-On)
  • Termination of MT ferrules onto multifiber cable (Hands-On)
  • Machine polishing of MT ferrules including discussion of multifiber polishing theory and explanation of purpose of individual polishing steps(Instructor)
  • Microscopic visual inspection of polished ferrules including discussion of IEC visual acceptance criteria for multifiber connectors (Instructor)
  • Interferometric examination of ferrule endface geometry including explanation of IEC geometry parameters, demonstration of interferometer set-up and calibration, and measurement of MT ferrule endface geometries (Instructor)
  • Assembly of MTP® Brand connector housing (Hands-On)
  • Insertion loss and return loss testing of MTP® brand connectors including discussion of optical test equipment (Instructor)

PRIZM® LightTurn® Connector Installation Training Course Overview

  • Background of PRIZM® LightTurn® brand connector technology (Instructor)
  • Preparation of cable and fiber for termination (Hands-On)
  • Termination and curing of PRIZM® LightTurn® ferrules onto multifiber cable and ribbon (Hands-On)
  • Microscopic visual inspection of  PRIZM® LightTurn® ferrules including discussion of visual acceptance criteria (Instructor)
  • Assembly of PRIZM® LightTurn® brand connector housings (Hands-On)
  • Insertion loss and return loss testing of  PRIZM® LightTurn® brand connectors including discussion of optical test equipment (Instructor)

MXC® with PRIZM® MT Expanded Beam Ferrule Termination, Installation and Testing Overview

Course Content:

  • Background of physical contact connector technology (Instructor)
  • Background of expanded beam connector technology and PRIZM®MT Ferrules (Instructor)
  • Preparation of multi-fiber cable and fiber for termination including ribbonization (Hands-On)
  • CO2 Laser cleaving of single row and multi-row prepared fiber cables
  • Termination of 1 row and 2 row PRIZM®MT Ferrules (Hands-On)
  • Microscopic visual inspection of terminated ferrules including discussion of acceptable visual criterion (Instructor)
  • Final Assembly of MXC® bulkhead and blind mate connectors (Hands-On)

MDC Duplex Connector Installation, Polishing and Testing Training Course Overview

Course Content:

  • Background of Very Small Form Factor duplex and MDC connector technology (Instructor)
  • Preparation of cable and fiber for termination (Hands-On)
  • Termination of MDC duplex cable connectors onto 2 fiber round cable (Hands-On)
  • Termination of MDC junior/internal connectors onto 900um fiber (Hands On)
  • Machine polishing of MDC duplex connectors including discussion of polishing theory and explanation of purpose of individual polishing steps(Instructor)
  • Microscopic visual inspection of polished ferrules including discussion of IEC visual acceptance criteria for duplex connectors (Instructor)
  • Interferometric examination of ferrule endface geometry including explanation of IEC geometry parameters, demonstration of interferometer set-up and calibration, and measurement of 1.25mm ferrule endface geometries (Instructor)
  • Polarity management overview and configuration MDC duplex connectors (Instructor and Hands on)
